Agelaius phoeniceus (Linnaeus, 1766) (0, 1)
STATUS
North and central America. Polytypic.
OVERVIEW
There were eighteen records of this bird during 1843-87 which were attributed to importation in the bird trade. However, with the restriction on the bird trade, this female was considered of wild origin and frequented an iris bed on North Ronaldsay, Orkney, for sixteen days to become the first for Britain.
