STATUS

Eurasia. Polytypic.

OVERVIEW

This first for Britain was trapped and proved to be a first-winter of the nominate form that breeds east of Lake Baikal. With Rufous-tailed Robin Luscinia sibilans on Fair Isle on the 23rd October and an Eastern Crowned Warbler Phylloscopus coronatus in Finland on the same day its supporting cast enhanced its credentials as of wild origin.
